A special birthday
Friday was Joshua's birthday and so for something different we took him toe Chef Alberto Guzman's live cooking show on ASOMA Television. Joshua enjoys cooking and likes to watch Alberto's program when he can.
The intention was just to watch them do the show, but when Alberto heard that it was Joshua's birthday he invited Joshua to help him bake the cake he was going to make.
The differences between Joshua and Joel can be quite notable sometimes. Alberto was talking with us and Joel kept saying, "I don't want to be on television.", while Joshua had no problem with helping Alberto make the cake.
The producer took Joel into the control room and he had a fun time talking with the two techies while the program went out.
It was a fun and memorable time. At the end of the show, Alberto gave each of us a piece of the cake. It was a beet cake, but really very tasty!

Open house at ANAN
ANAN had an openhouse and had the students participating in representing the 12 countries of the UNASUR.
Joshua was part of the culinary group
Joel was part of the colinary group representing Paraguay.
Both needed to take a dish from their respective countries (it's fun making a dish that you haven't seen nor heard of until the one week before the event) and explain about the dish.
Everything turned very tasty!
Culture day as school
CristoPol
CristoPol is the international network of Christian police officers. We met with these men Sunday afternoon to figure out what CristoPol is, how or if we could help them, and to have a chance to pray with them. The group of men pictured here are from Paraguay, U.S.A., Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador.

Marlene did an incredible job arranging interviews with the radio and television media and also inviting the various stations to the closing event of the third annual congress of CristoPol held this year in Quito.
There wasn't much time to plan things as we met with these men Sunday afternoon and the closing ceremony was held Saturday in the evening.
Later, the directorship of CristoPol, Ecuador, came to our church, Inaquito to thank the church for its support of the event. (Our senior pastor, Fernando Lay, is on the far left. General Juan Ruales is at the podium.)
