Here's a picture of the Guayaquil airport by night. Not the airport that I wanted to see in Ecuador.
Quito airport was closed because of fog when we were coming in for landing. We went into a holding pattern north of Quito for about 20 minutes before diverting to Guayaquil.
After we landed the pilot announced that we were just going to refuel and head back to Quito.
The good news is that the fog has now lifted and we will be getting to Quito tonight. The bad news is that it will be a short night!

On my way home
I am sitting on an airplane waiting for boarding to finish. After one week in Indiana I'm on my way home.
I participated in our HCJB Global IT meetings for two days at Taylor University in Upland, IN. followed by four days of ICCM (International Conference for Computing and Missions).
It was a great time of spiritual renewal set in the midst of a bunch of geeks talking about technology. We also had time to meet up some friends who are no longer with HCJB. What a blessing that was.
It is always a special time at these meetings, but I've dearly missed Marlene and the boys. We were able to have video chats courtesy of technology, but its not the same as being there in person.
I'll be back home around 11:30 tonight, God permitting.

Just when you thought it was safe...
I wrote my last blog post Sunday, when they were saying that the volcanic activity of Tungurahua was going down. It turns out that the prognosis was premature. Tungurahua has been exploding all week. Causing many problems for those who live around the volcano. Many families have been evacuated due to the falling ash and other dangers presented by an erupting volcano.
One report indicated that rocks were be hurled two kilometers from the crater and there has been some lava flow.
