Summer in winter...

Winter in Quito means rain, usually starting around 3pm every day, except this year.

Where we would expect to see green grass, lots of clouds, cooler temperatures, we are instead seeing yellow grass, few clouds and hot days.

We are in the midst of a continued drought even though we are no longer having power shortages. I suppose that enough rain is falling where the hydro-electric plants are located to maintain water levels, but there are now numerous public service announcements encouraging conservation of water.

Hopefully, we start getting some rain soon in Quito.
