The first week of April brought April showers. Except these weren't just showers, but torrential downpours that caused a number of mudslides and washouts. For a couple of days there was no way to drive between Shell and Quito as all the roads were closed.This photo of the road between Baños and Shell was taken by one of the families here on their way to Shell. They encountered a number of scenes like this one.
